Bowl Food

A new and innovative way of entertaining!  The idea is that you choose 3 to 4 dishes for your guests to sample as they socialize in a more informal setting.
The “bowls” of food would be circulated, in the main, in small bowls accompanied by the necessary cutlery required. They wouldn’t all come in bowls – Some of them might be on small plates, Bamboo steamers or, perhaps Champagne Saucers – Which ever is more appropriate for the dish.

Here is a list of ideas which you might want to consider:

Savoury Ideas

  • Venison Sausages, Dijon Mash and Port and Redcurrant Jus
  • Spiced Apricot Lamb Tagine with Root Vegetables, Couscous and topped with Greek Yoghurt and Coriander
  • Pork and Bamboo Shoot Stir Fry with a Sweet and Sour Sauce on a bed of Pilau Rice
  • Fillet of Beef Strips, Chunky Olive Oil Chips drizzled with Béarnaise Sauce
  • Coq au Vin with Pommes Dauphinoise
  • Penne with Wild Mushroom, White Wine and Cream Sauce
  • Creamy Smoked Haddock, Prawn and Salmon Pie
  • Root Vegetable and Apricot Tagine served on a bed of Couscous with Greek Yoghurt and Coriander.
  • Green Thai Curry scented with Fresh Lemon Grass served on a bed of Coconut Rice
  • Haggis Neeps and Tatties with a rich Malt Whisky Sauce
  • Sweet Potato Risotto gratinated with a Breadcrumb and parmesan Crust
  • Goats Cheese and Caramelised Red Pepper Tartlet
  • Potato and Celeriac Cake topped with Wild Mushrooms drizzled with a sticky Port and Redcurrant Jus

  • Roasted Buternut Squash, Red Pepper & crumbled Goat Cheese scattered with toasted Pinenuts & Rocket drizzled with a reduced Balsamic Dressing.
  • Poached Pear, Blue Cheese and Walnut Salad
  • Chilli Prawns, Roasted Mixed Peppers and Noodle Salad dressed with a Lemon and Garlic Dressing
  • Seared Tuna Carpaccio Salad

  • Barbecued Spiced Chicken Caesar Salad
  • Home made Beef Burgers with Coleslaw
  • Lamb and Mint Kebabs with a Smoked Paprika Rice
